Bash Plate EA82T

Post by Subafury » Sun Feb 18, 2007 9:50 pm

When i got the lift kit in i decided it was too hard to mould/bash/modify the existing sump guard to fit and also because i wanted a new custom one :)
So ive just finished installing it (after lots of painful thinking and waiting), heres the process with pix.
Image
cardboard template- its pretty much the same basic shape as the stock one, just with a couple bends.
Image
i got a steel company to cut it out and bend it up. Dimensions- 600mm width at the front, 430mm on the back, 1.6mm thick steel. was the thickest they had apparently. and didnt have checkerplate :(
Image
the "top hat" steel with many tek screws as the factory mounting nut/thread got ripped out on mine. this is stronger than using those with spacers as well.
Image
final product

i hope its strong enough, i'll soon find out.
