having used the two piece L series tailshaft with my 5 speed into Brumby I now find myself playing with one, or two in order to get rid of the ting, ting noise of a dry uni.
Originally the uni joints are staked in and sound to be a costly outsourced repair.
Just discovered one actually has been replaced with a joint using C clips on the inside which has got me thinking... Is there a listing for replacement using C clips or has some genious found one that fits?
anybody replaced these unis ? know the part number ?
The front uni is making the ting, ting noise and the rear is shagged and quiet ??
and no vibration ??
L series tailshaft uni options ???
I just got three of my uni joints replaced in my L series tailshaft.
The subaru joints are kindof non replacable but a driveshaft company can still do it.
Cost me $100 per uni joint.

follow up"
ripped out clip style uni joint and identified as a nissan part type RUJ 1781 hardy spicer brand
it appears shaft has been machined to accept a common unijoint with 25mm dia cups with clips now fitting between 44mm gap.
the others on same shaft are still originals staked and just under 24mm dia and only 35 mm where the clips might go, so loks to be machined out a fair bit to accept a uni that can be replaced for about 30 bucks in as many minutes.
now for re assembly and test.
have done the staked steering uni but that not need balance. can only think if i tried to weld in a uni for ever it may need a balance
