car kit wiring

Post by timmo » Sat Feb 10, 2007 2:44 pm

just got a nokia car kit 2nd hand - on the wiring diagram it has the yellow wire labelled CRM. What is this? It plugs into the control box along with the earth & ignition +'ve etc.

Thanks

Timmo

CRM stands for Car Radio Mute... it outputs a negative when the car kit is in use or the phone rings whilst in the car kit. Some stereos have a radio mute wire (mutes audio when triggered)... this can be tested with a test light... others that don't you can use a relay to cut the accessories feed to the deck using this wire as a trigger.

yeah your right. But seriously hold on on buying a 3G phone for a while. Nokia don't currently have a 3G phone and the current phones and car kits for them are very not good.

My bad... but still... your phone would need a crapo car kit. I swear Alishia told me Nokia aint brough em out yet... never trust a sales person hey.

Cool, work's on the boards :).

Correction: my phone would require a crapo cradle, it still would and does work with the CK7W kit either through Bluetooth or the pop port.
