I haven't been to KI for about 3 years and now that i have my own reliable touring car I want to go back, this time with a mate who has never been rather than family. Here are some questions

Considering we will be pitching a tent rather than hiring a place where are some standout places to stay?
Anything special that is off the tourist track?
Can you use pushbikes in the national parks, specifically on the walking trails? I am keen to cover a bit of ground on a bike- means we can see more of the island in the time we are there.
Lastly but perhaps most importantly, we are both keen to do some serious fishing. Any good rock or beach spots to recommend and what kind of fish will we be targetting (so i can buy the right bait).

g'day mate. Been to KI a few times over the years. have a look at the RAA or tourism SA sites. beach fishing is awsome, salmon, KG whiting, etc. I'll have a squiz at some of the travel and fishing guides I have around.
