help, stalls some times?
Problem: stalls some times?
Ongoing trouble, the brumby started fine only some times it would just stall while driving along at anytime, cold, hot, it didnt matter. I would sit steady on a fixed speed down the road with no alteration to accelerator pedal and it would stall, sometimes it would cough and splater, and sometimes it would just cut out straight away. it would then take a bit to start run rough and then smooth out and all was good for another week or so. I think its something to do with fuel, it has no trouble after sitting over night and will always start first turn, but the problem has got worse lately and if I drive somewhere then stop and try and start again it wont start straight away and sometimes takes a while to get going again.
Anyone had this problem before, all help would be great.
cheers

If you run, you will only die tired!!
Fuel starvation can be fuel vapourization, this is when the hotter weather causes the fuel to vapourize in the carby due to getting hot. Cant offer a solution, maybe someone else has experienced this.
Check also the coil and leads, can be similar symptoms of a failing coil.

Can this happen with an EFI? sounds almost exactly what happens to my EJ18 occasionally. Sorry for the hijackthis is when the hotter weather causes the fuel to vapourize in the carby due to getting hot.

replaced fuel filters, coil, leads as they needed doing anyway and she is running fine, for now. havent had the opportunity to take it for a big run as I want to replace CV boot and rack end first. still think a carby kit will be needed but I'll see how it goes for now.

can a shottie alternator cause my stalling issues, only seem to do it when warmed up.
As you might have guessed I have fixed CV boots and Rack end and finally had the opportunity to take it for a good run and the problem is still pressent, god damn broken thingy where are you!!!!

only when warmed up ay?
its also warmer weather too?
just the other day, i adjusted the tuning on my ea82t after tanking the e10 fuel, so adjusted idle to a smooth 850rpm, also moving in the idle mix screw.
Well next day, is like 10deg hotter, so when engine warmed up, and i'm stopping or off-throttle,it stalls. The fix is readjusting the idle screw.
The idle screw control amount of air at idle, not fuel (ecu does that), so basically when it was a warmer day, there was not enough air.
It wasn't a fuel problem, because i tried simply bumping the mixture % up with the hand controller, all it did was make it run rich, but still stall, more air was the solution.
So even tho you got a different engine, its a similiar problem maybe?

not sure if thats the problem I have as it is to intermittent, doesnt do it all the time and idles fine and runs smooth, weather doesnt seem to affect it as Im from darwin and after the move to brissy to some cooler weather its still the same. today I will check all earths carby bits as previously explained. how do you test an alternator for problems and could this cause the sudden stalling?
