lifting my 91
hey im gonna lift my 91 l series but im not sure if i should get the 2" 3" or 4" kit. which ones are illegal on the roads? and are cops really that strickt?
i have about 1500 bucks and im willing to use it all on my suba. if anyone would like to help me allocate these funds to my car or help me put it all together then it would be VERY appreciated.

If you put bigger tyres on then the car will look more natural (ie the lift won't look out of place).

I would love more lift but 2" is legal and insurance will cover it, anything else and your gone if they catch it. Some state are more strick then other - DO NOT pay attention to what happens in WA unless of corse you are over here as well.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

Sorry forgot to add will not happen if you get the correct offset rim (55mm+)Fang wrote:Even though I do not get tyre scrubbing issues

hey dude, go the three inch lift, with all new king springs and kyb shockies, you will be looking at 14inch rims, with somehing like 205/75/r14 tyres, unless you want to go 4wd tyres, which are a 27inch tyre.
the rims will cost you about $100 each, and the road tyres range from $100-150ish. 4wd tyres are ABOUT $200 each...
ive had a 3inch lift in my car for a while now, ive had cops pull me over for speeding and stuff, they dont even look twice at the car. Subi Matt passed the pits a few weeks ago with his 3inch lift.
hope that helped abit

well looks like its all been answered.
btw if ya can find some second hand 14's with tyres go for them, unless of course u want new ones-the availability of which is diminishing.
get the 3" lift(approx $400), king springs+ new shocks (approx $600) and use the rest on some wheels. done. so when's it gonna be ready??
