boss kits L-series AGAIN!

Post by Alex » Tue Dec 05, 2006 9:10 pm

ok, so i just bought a boss kit for my 1990, carby, L-series wagon, which of course doesnt fit, so i filed off the splines, and tightened the boss on with the nut, effectively re-splining the boss..

only to then realise i didnt have the boss on strait, so now the new wheel isnt strait(i'm an idiot)

who knows the CORRECT part number for the boss kits? i now have to try and remove the boss i have on there now..good luck!

cheers

There is problems with the part number listing for the L boss kits... in that they are not right at all. Vidler went through all this and got a proper one for it... u should talk to him before ordering another part from a part number book.

He probably had to get one to suit a 1947 MY Vortex.

One of my GLATs has an autotechnica boss - that don't fit properly, needing further investigation

surely MY and L wheels are interchangeable ??

Looks good Alex - I had a simliar wheel (Autotecnica brand of all things) but recently went to a Legacy GT (Momo) wheel - I found it a lot easier to steer.. and I can see all the gagues. Bolted straight onto the Saas Boss.

I think Vidler modified a Autotecnica one so it actually did what it was sposed to?
