Subaru alloy bullbar ... $365?

Post by RogDog » Tue Dec 05, 2006 12:07 pm

Is this way too much to pay for a second hand alloy bullbar? I know they are hard to find and all, but it does seem like it should cost that when its brand new, not second hand. its currently on ebay.

That's a bargain price. I paid $450 for mine secondhand a few years back.
Mate of mine got a brand new one made up for $1100.
They don't wear out. If it hasn't been hit by anything, polish it up and it will BE new.

Just to be clear though, are you talking about a Bullbar, or a Roobar? Some people don't know the difference...
A Roobar is a tube arrangement which mounts in front of the standard plastic bumper bar.
A Bullbar is a full heavy duty bumper replacement.

$365 is quite steep if it's just a roo bar...

The question that needs to be answered is it for an MY or L series?

(Although) Either way its a still a bargan.

$365 for an alloy bullbar second hand. i thought this would be rather steep... one wreckers in melb asks $60 for a bullbar... gotta find one though (almost landed a good looking 4 post replacement bar but it was already sold :( )

Maybe it's just tassie but:
paid $100 for a secondhand MY bumper replacement bull bar, then 400 for a whole car with a better wrap-around, 14"s, lift, rust, etc.

Bought an L bullbar for $80, with another wrecker quoting $120

Also know of a custom alloy bar that was done locally for around the 300 mark.

But as has been said, finding them at this price can be a problem, just have to keep an eye out.

For 1100 + I would want it to be made from titanium alloy.

Keep a look out for other cars with bullbars on as well. Ford Courier ones fit really nice on L's with a small bit of ally welding to the mounts..
