Leather CV and DOJ Boots...how much?

Post by BRUMBERTY » Fri Nov 10, 2006 8:40 am

What would be a reasonable price to charge for hand made, custom CV boots
(in your choice of colours ricers).

Same basically as a rubber one but with two seams, secured with metal bands ala factory.

Never have to change a boot again people, heat proof too....turbo boys.

I am making the first run and giving them to some testers.

I am not looking to run an auction here, just trying to gather from my friends a fair price, which will cover materials and my time and keep everyone happy.

Thoughts please...

EJ22 Dual range AWD lifted, widened and much happier now thanks very much.

1991 L Series wagon, white and perfectly normal apart from the ticking, no I think that is normal.

Jet boat..webbered EA81 with a hybrid tin dish welded and glued to it.

Sounds like a top idea. I'm keen.

How long does it take you to make one? Time is the dearest thing we have.

As I see it, I am number one, Johnnie is two and BrumbyRunner is three.

I am trialling a heavy marine grade suede (sort of light green/grey colour)
It is what we used to put over rigging parts exposed to salt water when I worked on yachts.
We sprayed the outside with Lanotech to keep it supple.

I am onto it now, give me a wek or so.

You have to be very careful with it around Kiwis,
The smell of sheep sets them off- sort of like a spannish fly effect on them!

Delicious she was- but alas she will make no boots!

I have tried two prototypes, a third is needed.
Its all about the shape and its hard to replicate, i will be sewing or glueing metal rings in them to hold shape at high speed.

I am slammed with work committments atm, time will be spent on this soon.
