Blown fuses,
Steering rack swap
L series hub swap
New CV's (desperately)
Re weld some cracks
Fluids and filters
etc
etc
etc.
All in all she was running well but looking for love.
Then my Saturday got blown by Fire Brigade Duty to marshall a bike race.
Bugger.
But then the silver lining came through.....
I had 40kms of closed forestry roads to myself and 160 hard core mountain bike riders (LegacyTT included).
Getting from my first checkpoint to my last checkpoint I had to race against the riders but cover twice the ground.
Nasty, corrugated, stony, forestry roads.
Now- the old Wonder Brumby has a happy speed over this terrain - Flat out.
Anything below 60-70k's and she shakes and rattles like hell,
its sort of like a happy planing speed in a boat.
You need to give her some, 80 ish is good.
and any AWD driver will tell you to keep acceleration up through the corners,
and then they get faster and faster,
and then you are sideways,
need to power out of that too.... woo hooooooo.
Repeat.
Repeat.
During the day I spent an hour and 20 minutes on full boost (7psi).
I burnt 40 litres of LPG and almost 3 litres of distilled water (water injection)
If that wont kill it , nothing will.
No change in oil level or coolant.
The heart of the machine with war paint on...

At checkpoint six...

She shat an Outer CV, big time.
Dropped the remaining bit of my diff hanger bush out,
Caned.
And loved it.
I arrived at my checkpoint 4 minutes before 160 psychopaths came at me head on.
They had a great race,
we made money for the Fire Brigade over the bar and with the spit roast we put on (good apetites them cyclists)
Win Win all round.
Nothing got fixed this weekend except my low beam fuse- hey I had to do something.
Started first pop this morning (she loves me).
PS
I was worried about my CVs, took a spare but she didn't quite need it.
