Bad ass knock

Post by Brumby Boy » Sat Oct 14, 2006 10:53 am

Hay just woundering if any of you have had a bad knocking noise in the front wheel area.
Its in the LHF, its a rotational niose like a cv outter joint but its a real bad knocking/Brake Grounch type noise not a clicking noise.
i have checked that every thing is tight so i sure its eather a wheel bearing of the outter joint.
Its only evident when braking and Turning left or goin straight after braking but once i accelerate it goes away.
what do you think??
Its realy annoying

Castle nut on the hub isn't done up tight enough, and / or cone washer needs replacement.

I agree with Tim... had a mates one do this just yesterday.. tightened the nut to specs (Jumped on breaker bar) and the noise was fixed.

You know it might sound funny, but jack your car up and make sure the nuts holding you wheel are tight.
