Moving car from Melbourne to Perth

Post by AndrewT » Mon Sep 25, 2006 10:46 pm

I've sent a car from Perth to Melbourne via Rail before and it was just over $300.

I've gotten quotes recently for $1000+ to send it back from Melbourne to Perth!

Does anybody know the cheapest way to send a car from Melbourne to Perth?? I don't care if it takes like 2 months....

It's always cheaper Perth to Melbourne because the car transporters carry the new cars over from the East and don't like going back empty.........

I think you're out of luck finding a 'cheap' Melb -Perth trip
Subaru RX Turbo (engine out AGAIN!)
Ford XF Panelvan EEC-IV (rusting)
Ford Escort RS1800 GP4 (in pieces)
Van Diemen RF89 (Sold, finished and racing)
Softride Powerwing 650 (working fine)

Dude, there is a website on which you can get your load taken as a filler load, i.e., a bit of space is available and the truckie can go to the site, bid on the load and fill the empty space on the truck for max efficiency.

simmilar to this link: http://www.freightnow.com.au/

Good luck!
