Photo Time ...
Sorry missed this nugget ...
Although what I really need is some good close-up photos of the parts in all axis with a ruler placed somewhere on it, then I can use 'software' to turn it into a 3D file ...
Just don't expect it any time soon, as I'm still working on other projects ...
Cheers, Bantum ...
Not required atm as AliExpress does that ...wagonist wrote:No worries about the waiting for L series stuff.
If you're going to get stuff done in China, I travel here often as I'm married to a woman from Shanghai (and am there at the moment enjoying the smog, how I miss Aus sun, clouds and blue sky...).
If you can get packages made to fit as luggage and <23kg, I can usually bring back 1 box.
Not sure how that will go for the next trip next year though as there'll be a very small person in tow which might eat into our allowance.

Re: 3D Printed Replacement Parts ...
Awesome. Thanks for the update! I’m liking those stainless steel trim end pieces - I need these!
Now to hunt down someone local to me who had a 3D printer.
Yesterday I saw a presentation be Mat Bowtell from free3Dhands. Awesome work he does and he’s a great speaker with a very unique story to share. If you ever get a chance to see him speak, get on it!
Cheers

Looks good mate!
What’s the first project and is it difficult to use?
I wouldn’t mind one but I don’t have a suitable space for it with curious kids and their little fingers.
Cheers

Re: Parts ...
Yes they are a bit fiddly to set up and get good print from.
First go at printing something :
Got to find a spot / make a booth for it to work more effective / safe for operator ( fumes need to be extracted ) ...

Re: 3D Printed Replacement Parts ...
Pic above didn’t work for me. That’s a massive bit of code for the image address!
What’s the difference in link/address for the pic in the first post to the one in your second post above? Maybe that will shed some light on the reason why some pics show and others don’t.
Cheers

Re: 3D Printed Replacement Parts ...
Sweet work mate! Will you manage to get that funky little pattern into the print like the original units? I know that’s a big ask!
Keep up the good work!

Leather Look ...
Yep the fake leather look, there's been a hold up on that as I haven't worked out how to do it yet.
I had thoughts of using an imprint stamp ( heat up & brand basically ) but open to suggestions ...
Only other way I know of is to make a mold to inject / cast into ... :/

Re: 3D Printed Replacement Parts ...
Not sure about anyone else but to me even a smooth surface would be better than no surrounds at all You can add surface finishing to bring out a relief/pattern after the print.

Did a bit research & found this :
https://grabcad.com/tutorials/how-to-3d ... works-2019
Will have to give it a go ...
Add: Managed to add some 'texture' to the surface :
Still need to work out how to convert it into actual 3D file that can be printed ...
