4eat to 5spd conversion... won't start...
4eat to 5spd conversion... won't start...
ok, I've installed a 5spd gearbox and mated it to my ej20t (or ej20g?) which came out of Legacy GT...
now the engine wont' start... get a lot of error codes out off the ecu (21, 23, 24 ,31, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18)....
what is wrong? will the ecu not function without the tcu disconnected from the loom?! what must I do in order to make the engine start?
I can make the starter fire up by short-circuiting the starter switch with a 12V wire but that does not change anything... it turns but just won't start and there is some strange whining noise while it turns....
any idea what I might do in order to fix this mess?
all suggestions are welcome!!!

My RX has an ex-auto ej20g and I never had that trouble. All I remember doing was cutting off anything to do with the auto, shorting the inhibitor switch and I've ended up hardwiring the neutral switch to ground.
Only problem I have now is 5psi of boost, and the error code for the throtle position sensor.

isn't the neutral switch and the inhibitor switch the same thing?PeeJay wrote:My RX has an ex-auto ej20g and I never had that trouble. All I remember doing was cutting off anything to do with the auto, shorting the inhibitor switch and I've ended up hardwiring the neutral switch to ground.
