LIFT KIT plus KING SPRINGS.
LIFT KIT plus KING SPRINGS.
Is it normal to replace the standard front Coil Springs with King Springs in addition to a 2 inch lift kit. Im having problems with blowing CV boots and have been told by Subaru People that the additional lift is placing xtra stress on the CV Boots.
Measured the king springs on the the Brumby with the lift kit installed and they measured 8". Then I measured the standard front springs on the non lifted brumby with the original stock springs and they measured 7". So technically the Brumby with the 2" lift kit plus the 1" king spring lift gives the vehicle a 3" lift on the front. "Maybe" that extra 1" on the front places some degree of stress on the CV boots.
I agree with Bennie, only go with stock length. I'd also add keep the stock spring rate too. Longer stiffer springs will just limit your down travel, wear out the CV joints and cause unnecessary harsh ride unless you have a heck of a load on-board.

Young bloke has 2 inch lift kit all installed right . I had to turn the blocks on top of the struts round right way they were wrong way round, but with those bloody king springs the wheels still do not have the right camber. Tried everything. Only thing left is replace with the stock standard springs - Which I have with new shockers installed. I think that extra 20mm lift with the King springs have something to do with his continual problems with busted CV boots and stuffed CV joints. Tried everything this is the only thing left replace with Standard springs.
