RS twin piston front calipers

Post by PeeJay » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:46 pm

How do you pull the pistons out to clean them? I have a pair that are a bit sticky and rusty(on the outside) and need a good cleanup, but I don't have a clue what I'm doing:)

Some pointers would be doog.

blow them out. other than that a brake shop can get them loose.

id probably recommend that you get a mechanic or a brake mob to do it for you if your not to sure what your doing. playing with brakes can be dangerous if ya dont no what ya doing.....

All I want to do is get the pistons out so I can clean the cylinders, I just wasn't sure if there was some special trick I didn't know about.

pull the bleeder nipple out and blow compressed air in there put a small piece of wood in front of the piston so you dont damage it...
