Neutral SW and Speed Sender wires
Just trying to sort out the last few glitches with my EJ converted RX.
Should the neutral SW be connected to ground while the car is in neutral? I connected it straight into ground today and it seems to be running and idling much smoother now, but from the diagram it seems it should only be grounded while in neutral.
Also, after all that talk of speed senders in the dash, what colour is the wire in the harness for it? I've connected the one I think is the right one but the computer is still winging that's it's got no speed signal.

You are right with the neutral position switch needing to be grounded when in neutral. I found no difference in the engine when i hooked this up... except for no code from the ECU relating to it.
The speed sensor is something that i hooked up to my cruise control speed sensor and found it only seamed to limit my MAX speed more than anything else. Did not notice any performance difference although once again it did stop the code. I think it tripped out at 138km/hr with my set up... at that point i couldn't even get the RPM to get any higher.
I plan to hook a switch onto the speed sensor wire to find out if it is what was limiting it though.

if your car is before 87 the speed sensor wire is yellow red after it is yellow green.easy way to test for it is to jack the car up turn on the ign and spin the front wheel while you have got a multi meter on the wire and watch voltage pulsing between 0 and 5v.PeeJay wrote:Just trying to sort out the last few glitches with my EJ converted RX.
