Hacking

Post by rtcb65 » Tue Feb 17, 2015 7:29 pm

I just recieved a email from this site , not sure if real , but if it is , some is trying to log on by cracking passwords. Is there a way to find out who it is by using the i.p. address . If not, i will most likely delete my acount . I dont wish to have my rep destroyed by some numb nut posting , using my acount.

The following is the email i got .

Dear rtcb65,

Someone has tried to log into your account on AUSubaru.com Forums with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 177.36.5.19

All the best,

It's a legit email. FROG had the same a week or so ago. You can trace the IP address.

The IP address will most likely be from China. Go figure why they'd want to get into your account!

Cheers

If you're concerned about it you could just change your password. Sounds like they haven't guessed yours yet though. Wonder when I will be getting this same email

ip-lookup.net

The ip is from Brasil, I would say a proxy server in Brasil.

The hacker was more than likely trying to get into your account to send spam PM's to other members as happened a little while ago.

If you are worried change your password to one with uppercase and lower case letters and numbers.

Here's the one I just got.
I dare say they are just trying to get in to post spam stuff - dodgy ray ban copies, Ipads etc
