Carb and manifold sealer

Post by Tweety » Sat Nov 15, 2014 7:42 pm

Read up a fair bit on sealer stuff.

Getting my SPFI manifold reamed a few mm each side as heads closer together on reco engine.
Got a custom adapter for weber carb.
Got standard gasket for carbie to adapter and gasket paper adapter to manifold. Worried about-

1/ gaskets leaking under carbie. should I use permatex gasket sealer?

2/ I know you dont normally use anything with the two gaskets manifold to heads and torque up to around 15lbs. What do you do with those gaskets. ??

thanks in advance. Tony

Found thread by DavidD which is informative on manifold gaskets.
Just carbie gaskets and what sealant you use on the gasket surfaces if you dont mind.
