Whats wrong with this pic

Post by coupe » Fri Jul 21, 2006 10:45 pm

Hi All
I got towed home wednesday from the mount henry bridge to Armadale. One of the pulleys or the power steering pump jammed.
The funny thing is that i was towed home from the Narrows bridge three weeks ago in the gassed EB wagon.
Now im banned from taking the Discovery to work in case i jinx it.
After spending 1/2 an hour waiting on the bridge i can say that the nicest sound you can hear comming and going is a wrx or rex
Everything else lacked depth and fullness of note.

Cheers
Pete

The Narrows is a bad place for Subarus. My wagon's front left wheel locked solid there about 4 years ago - I was actually driving up north to buy my coupe at the time!

My coupe also let out a ripper backfire there one night, its never done that anywhere else.

Pity about the Tex, I take it its being fixed quickly (gassed Falcons can't be that nice to drive, surely)

The Narrows must be Suba-haunted. :D

EB Sucks

Post by coupe » Fri Jul 21, 2006 11:53 pm

Yeah the EB sucks and blows but it costs $25/30 to drive the wagon and $ 50 / 60 to drive Tex also i need to take my car off the road so i can do the 5spd conversion etc..
Im thinking that the EB is the work wagon and my Tex is the pleasure.
And yes its the biggest lift i could fit under the vortex

broke it

Post by coupe » Sat Jul 29, 2006 9:45 pm

I found out that the belt tensioner pulley seized up causing the problem.
The funny thing was that i had a spare one and i gave it to Spaceage to help
him out ...

Murphy's Law strikes again !!
Pleased you found the problem and it's only minor.

But... The main thing that was wrong with the pic, is that the truck wasn't covered !! If anyone saw it on the truck, that could ruin your reputation. :):)

Rolls Royce send out a covered truck if the vehicle "fails to proceed" !!
Apparently they don't break down ( at least not that you see !!):p

your right

Post by coupe » Mon Jul 31, 2006 11:03 am

Your right of course, i should have more respect for the texs reputation.
but if that was the case i would have to put a bag over my head so the vortex wouldnt be seen with me in it....

$8.85 later im back on the road.
The people at Melvile Subaru sent me to a bearing place to get a replacement which was better than the $93 i was quoted as a replacement.
