Misterious Clunk

Post by D3V1L » Wed Jul 19, 2006 10:09 pm

took the wagon to work today, plenty of sand, plenty of fun during lunch breaks

and noticed when going over reasonably big bumps a loud BANG or CLUNK comes from the rear right corner of the car....

went over all the lift blocks and suspension gear, all seems good....

looking for any ideas

car is an 85 L wagon

Check out the exhaust system , it may be hitting at the rear , had it happen on mine at times, make sure that the exhaust isn't too hot and give it a good yank up and down .

exhaust seems to clear everything :x
took it to pedders today for them to scavenge round, they foundnothing wrong with the suspension (apart from every single bush being worn out, and steering rack caktas)

so im baffled....maybe something behind the panels banging round??

Is that bang in 2wd or 4wd? what about sturt/suspention travel and botteming out. also may be the diff knocking on something.
