Brumby Advice - Power windows, Central locking
Hey all,
Starting my brumby project car and am chasing some advice if possible.
Looking at putting power windows into it and have read a few tutorials on here.
It said to get MY electric window regulators.... Are they off a particular model/years? Im gonna head to the wreckers to chase them up, just wanted as much info as I could get so they can find me what i need.
Also, can't seem to find any information on fitting central locking.
Anyone able to shed some light on this?
Thanks heaps

There's a few ways to do the power window setup. Personally I think the kit that Jay-Jay (60766244) has done to his old girl Maple (Brumby), as the genuine regulators will be harder to find.
As for the central locking, just pop into your local Jaycar store and grab a universal kit. They are really simple to fit and can be connected to you remote immobilizer system. If you need one of them too.. ask while you're at Jaycar

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

I think the "Rapid Electronics" electric window kit is what you're after for aftermarket. I've got the 4 door kit but haven't installed it yet, everything is solid and looks pretty good quality wise and even comes with all the wiring and switches. I was thinking of using a touring wagon center console and butchering the switches to run the aftermarket windows but that's just another thing on the list at the moment
Will it ever end!?

these are the two threads that are relevant if you are using regulators and switchgear out of a MY Touring wagon ( 81-84)
