I finally pulled the finger out - here it is:

Start:



After some heat gun action with sand in the snorkel to keep some shape:



And all fitted up:







Here's parts of the work for the snorkel on top of what was already done with the heat gun above:





I hope this inspires others out there. I've also got an adaptor in the guard to fit into the factory L series air box.

Looks awesome and it doesn't obscure any of the driver's vision either.
