Trading in - Whats it worth ?
Trading in - Whats it worth ?
Hi All,
Just wanted to see what other Forum members reckon on the value of my L series.
It a stock standard 92 White Sportswagon 1.8 Carbie with B/Bar,T/Bar and Roof racks.Done 240 k,original everything (I know been through the spend loadsa dough on cars phase).
Its been 7 yrs since we last stepped into a car yard. That experience has put us off since but now we are looking at trading up to a Forester.
Anyone like to share their horror stories or good vibes from trading up ? Doesnt have to be Subaru's.
Cheers

I'm not sure what a dealer would offer you (probably two parts of SFA), but I can promise that you'll be better off selling it privately.
If your L is in real neat condition you should be able to get $4,000 for it. Basically it goes downhill from there.
Good luck with it, if you look after your Forester it should hold it's value well.

Best way to see how much your car is worth is to look in your local paper or check the trading post in your area. The value of a car will be dependant on the area you live and condtion of it at sale time.
E.G The price of the same car in Sydney will be less than it would in Brisbane

Thanks all.
We have decided to keep the L series as it doesnt do us wrong nor do we owe money on it.We paid 12k for the L series 7 years ago (eek !) from a dealer
We did a trip to Qld and back from NSW,it didnt miss a beat for over 2,000 k's we did in a week a few months ago.
I would like to make some changes to the car and judging from these boards it not hard nor costly to do.These I hope to do:-
2.5 inch free flow exhaust (love the Soob rumble !)
Pod filter or even Webbie carb to match.
14 inch Speedies or similiar.
Cheers
