I;m a bit of a headlight reminder fan, surprised a lot of newish cars don't have audible lights on reminder as the door is closed......
I bought a pair of cheap arse $3 reminders at an auto parts sale/display years back. Finally fitted one 18 mths ago for it to die on me in weeks.
Just got around to chasing it up today, swap in his brother, testing wires first.
Then the discovery for MY and likely L Series and more ..... these style of buzzers are two wire installs/ One wire taps into IGN 12V+ , the other into 12V + of the light circuit. Don't ask me how - it is electronic and works, buzzes its tits off as soon as key goes off IGN and lights still on. Tricky little electronics inside. Seen it done with a light and diode too in home made version beast I bought 24 years ago!
30 years ago I bought this biggish black box that beeped to a countdown, then flashed red leds to flash away hidden under dash.
LED's been around that long ??
Later , spent a whole $13 on a better profit margin? buzzer from a non fly-by-nighter store
This time I have my electrical tester - $4 buzzer with aligator clips on both test leads. Hooked it up to test both wires and just the plain buzzer buzzed perfectly when lights left ON and key hits OFF position.
I pinched IGN from a plug under dash and lights from my radio lights wire
So, reckon if you have an MY/Brumby or an L at least you can make self a headlights on buzzer with just a $4 buzzer wired in same - one wire to IGN POS , the other to lights on POS.
Think it is due to the neg switching of our Sube lights gives us the advanyage of not needing electronics added to a buzzer.
Shoot! You could power up a relay to blow the horns if family is deaf !

Hmmm, diode would not be bad idea as an after thought. I found that as my key hits IGN, my dash lights come on, so too my parker circuit maybe if I looked and my turn light indicators in dash glow and stay on for a while after starting.
I'll use one of those blue diode containing doo dads I've pulled from under a few Subes dash, found a grey one the other day in the Vortex ..... must have been calling out to me
