x2 Qs - wheel colour and running boards

Post by steve-L4EVA » Sun Jul 02, 2006 5:34 pm

Am after the paint used used that some guys have painted their 14 inch sunrayarias - looks like ?cold gav paint. A EJ powered brumby 4 sale recently (from QLD i think) looked pretty cool in a steel finish.

My car is silver duco with blue(!?) colured wheels at the moment. Considering satin black - tried silver hammertone - not quite right.

And running boards / spoilers - anyone had experience building these - saw a lifted L with checkerplabte running boards, looked alright.

cheers

I've painted the wheels on my L series with charcoal hammertone paint. I think it looks good.

From August I will be supplying pressed rocker-cover guards in both mild steel and aluminium checker plate.

Basically the opposite to running boards, sill protector like things. You'll see in a few weeks, don't wanna turn this thread into a sales pitch. :D

Thanks Matt - looked very similar but the outer edge had about 50mm radius to that gave a solid impression. Yours look great. What are they mounted to?

...and Geach, maaaaaaaaate, what were you thinking! blue!

FYI car, is going really well - just ask the the dude i kept with on the Southern Expressway on ramp from South Road a fortnight back. He was driving a hot sounding 6cyl Vk, & I kept with him all the way up hill. He thought he was sool cool becuase he had me by length - it was then i pointed to the trailer i was towing with a fridge in it...

I only have them screwed through the front guard and back gaurd; through the vertical part of step, it is strong enough to stand on. I Basically made them myself and got them professional welded.
It would be even easier to put the radius because you can actually buy the C section from specialist aluminum places these days just do a ring around. Then just make up some end pieces with a jigsaw and files and weld it to the C section and bolt up. If you want i can take some more pics of the mounting i used. You could also bolt through the lip on the bottom the sill for more strength.
