e82t getting hot..?

hi guys... over the past 4 days i have stripped a beautiful little 85 auto rx and put the entire loom and front end bar the auto and put it all into my L carby wags.. just getting in running right now.. i can drive around normal all day and it doesn't go over 1/3 temp but when i give it a good flogging for a few kays doing the timing or something it gets real hot then ill park it up running for a minute and it will just keep getting hotter.. i have a new alloy radiator with two thurmos running flat out.. i also put a new thermostat i it??? it has a new block and heads.. but hasn't been running for 4 years

Did you burp the cooling system? Park it with the front end up hill, maybe even on an angle so the radiator cap is at the highest point and run it for a bit. If there's any trapped air it should come out then top the water up again. Drive it around, check level again etc.

I'd be looking at air bubbles in the system somewhere. As said above, just have her idling with the cap off, fill it a bit, add some more, let it idle down, add some more, then rev the guts off it a bit, see if any more air gets out, add some more, idle, then let cap her, wash any spilled coolant out of the bay and you're set. :)

Otherwise... More work may be involved.
