Yep gloves and spraying mask and very carefull aim of the spray to avoid any sprayback.
Using jet spray rather than mist to limit atomisation, its slower but a lot more controlable.
I would love to own a Blackberry farm and not have to do this, but the law says I must.

Yep, there's nothing to do on a farm.
The rules are, Farmers have to "control", which is a nice government word for KILLL, Blackberries, Briars, certain thistles and certain Tussocks. These are the main anual weeds I have to"control".
Do it, or Prostitution begins, sorry Prosecution begins, similar, either way we are ------.
Then we have to "control" other invasive plants, the type varies from year to year, to balance the resources. Like Wombat "control". Now we have got rabbits back for the first time in 15 years, so rabbit "control".

StJohns wort is another weed that is a must control. Heard of a guy specialises in its harvest so gets dough from farmers for ripping it out, then onsells to naturopathy industry for thir anti depressing formulas

Then you have trees like the Chinese Pawlonia that councils regard as pest tree so won't allow to be grown for their timbers.

Discovered the caustic soda and water mix I used to flush the crud out of my radiator is very good for wiping out any plant life - reckon it would even do serrated tussock !

Oh yea, forgot to mention StJohns wort, luckilly, not much of that.

Any shrub/tree growth that looks bad/unfamiliar/prickly = Roundup = Glyophosphate.
The current ultimate chemical, toxic for everthing and everbody.

But supposedly better than the old tins of Arsenic, 245T and rusty tins of god knows what and the Wombat tablets, which were very,very nasty.

I use weedmaster duo at a rate of 75ml per 10 litre and wish it would do something to Jasmine creeper vine and ivy, so upped it to 300ml per ten litre and only made the ivy a bit sick - as for the jasmine - might go the caustic soda next

If you want to kill ivy I have a tip for ya;

The way to kill it is to find the biggest, thickest parts of it, the oldest bits at the very base of the plant. Then drill a small hole in the stem/branch (not all the way through) and fill it with un-diluted Zero via syringe. Then plug up the hole with silicone or something. Do this in a few places around the whole plant.

We did this before we went on holiday and the plant was alive and well. Came back 5 weeks later and the whole plant, I mean the WHOLE plant was crispy and completely dead. Now there's only a few traces of it's dead limbs clinging to the trees, it never came back.
