AUSubaru Club ...

Post by Bantum » Sun Jan 13, 2013 4:13 pm

Hi all,

After some discussion about the formation of a state based Subaru 'club' on here ,
I was wondering if there is a national club or body ?
Bantum wrote:Note : I'm not sure if AUSubaru is a registered club / entity - Can someone on here clarify ?
So - What are your thoughts on creating one if there isn't one allready ?

Cheers, Bantum ...

Note : I'm not sure if this in right section - if not, can it be moved to the correct one - Ta, Bantum ...

That would be awesome!
That way I can get permission to go to restricted places like the Morgan quarry.
Just book it for the club, and invite you guys. Invite my non subaru friends and whoever turns up turns up.
Hehehehehe

Cheers Cam

My thoughts exactly ( with slight correction ), but don't go booking anything just yet, as there are a few detials that still need to be work out ... ;)

The next step I suppose would be to ask : Are there be enough members here that would be interested in forming an organising committee of some sort ? If there isn't one already ...

I'd suggest it's primary task would be to the implentation & legal aspects of the club formation if required, as I'm sure there are bound to be unforseen problems arise.

We could also ask if other subi clubs would like to join AUSubaru ... :)

Is it true when they say : Strength in Numbers ?

We're in the process of organising a poll to garner interest, will see how much there is before taking it any further ... :D

Don't expect anything to happen stright away, it may take some time to organize ... ;)

I would be keen to help with any of the organizing, setting it up.
And if no one objects would be happy to be on the committee. (I do have a bit of experience)

Cheers Cam

Expansion ...

Some more thoughts to mull over ...

There are many types of car clubs out there and to be fair to others, this site does have a slight bent on the pure Off Road stuff, which is probably due to its' foundings, which I don't mind at all - but I would like current members to consider opening up to these :
  • Classics
  • Vintage
  • Rally
  • 4WD
  • Off Road
  • On Road
  • Track
  • Performance
  • Highly Modified
Note : Any that I've missed ?

Yes there are forum's for almost all of them including this one, but to my knowledge there are currently no Subaru clubs out there in Aussie Land that can offer some of the benifits of a large group on a national basis, where you can join like minded people who enjoy all type's of Subaru's ... :)

I do recall when I first got the Touring Wagon there used to be a Subaru owners thingy that you could join through Subaru itself, but not sure if that was continued ? ...

Edit : Just did a search and found this : SUBARU OWNERS CLUB OF AUSTRALIA

It doesn't seem to exist any more ... :(

Edit : I did a bit more digging & found this : SUBARU OWNERS CLUB OF AUSTRALIA REGISTRY

Ok - That's enough for today ... :p

Ciao, Bantum.

Yeah, it will need a warehousing facility so no one has to toss treasures coz they have had to move, or upgrade to better stuff, got married, had (more) kids etc, etc

Yeah I like it, not sure how it would work though ... ;-)

Speaking of whore housing : Subaru Active is what the official Subaru site is now, only for current models though ... :(

It used to be an irregular monthly mag as I recall, has anybody seen / got copies from earlier times ? ...
