Radiator Overflow Tank Cleanup

Yesterday I spent all afternoon replacing the radiator hoses & flushing the system thoroughly.

I also thoroughly cleaned the overflow tank, 1st with a bottle brush, then with coarse sand. Came up a treat!

Just be sure to wash out every last grain of sand lol

I've gone with the sand route and it works very well, even better if you soak it first. I've not needed to use the bottle brush cleaner - laziness mainly, plus I didn't think of it and Dad's got some free sand in the creek

Don't worry, it ended up on the driveway after I was done with it!

I was thinking of trying some of that CLR stuff but hey, sand is much cheaper

Ive tried CLR and it did not work as I intended. Also gone the sand method, as an impro over the old Hungarian method in a dry bottle - rice !
