5 lbs is waste pressure meaning the ecu is probably detecting the missing restrictor pill or a vacuum leak and running in "limp" mode. the pills are 4.40 from subaru.. check the lines are connected the right way and not leaking.. the fact you make more on a bleed-valve would imply ecu boost cut to me but i have heard of bleed valves boost spiking and ruining engines..

Not quite

The restrictor pill is designed to limit the flow of air from the compressor housing going to the bleed solenoid to give the solenoid greater control. If you dont have a pill you, the compressor line is able to deliver more air than the solenoid can bleed off, thus limiting you to wastegate pressure. The ECU has no way of knowing if the pill is there or not

It wont do that either, boost control is completely open loop. The ECU doesnt care what boost it is seeing, as long as its below the overboost limit, which I believe is around the 12-13psi mark

Interesting points guys, I found the restrictor and it was in place when it only made low boost. Anyway bypassed the whole thing so it dosn't matter now. Funny how things go, 3 weeks ago I hated my Brumby and was going to let a relative buy it and be glad to see the back of it. Then I got my finger out and got evey thing working the way it should, and making a little extra power now I absolutly love it.

Post by Zacsulleh » Sun Dec 16, 2012 2:17 pm

Hey guys, firstly im new to the forum, meaning im noob as at posting new threads, two i have a 1991 liberty wagon 5 speed manual. the synchro's in 3 and 4 are completely non existant and i was looking at rebuilding the box by making one out of two. so i found this car at the local wreckers with relatively low mileage compared to my car and the transmission identification numbers are sooooo similar i was wondering if there would be a significant difference between my number and the other cars they are as follows:

MY CAR: ty752xh1aa
other car:ty752xh2aa

now can anyone tell me the difference between the two or what the "1" and the "2" stand for and wether or not it will go into my car or not? basiclly if its something like diff ratio's thats fine but if it wont fit etc... THANKS GUYS LET ME KNOW ASAP! :D

I think Sven was also meant to drop a welcome in there somewhere - but we are tired of these sorts of thread hacks, I hope you understand!
