grease from front control arm bush

Post by thunder039 » Fri Nov 09, 2012 6:06 pm

On my weekly routine of looking underneath my forester, i noticed on the passenger side some grease leaking out of the control arm bush, the large one furthest away from the motor.

i was wondering if this is worth worrying about? no noises coming from the area to suggest its been like this for a long period of time, and have only been doing normal daily driving

I wouldn't bother. When you hear knocking from the front suspension, just replace your bushes and endlinks. Use whiteline gear too.... ;)
I haven't bothered with mine and they are worn as hell, probably about 4-5mm play in all the bushes.. lol

I'd change them. If you leave them too long you'll end up paying more on new tyres, as this will put your alignment out.

I'd agree with Taza on the whiteline product. I use these on all SF Foresters and BG Outbacks...

Really easy to replace.. especially when you have a hoist and the corret tools ;)

Your choice to leave but the longer you leave it the more stress you put on other things like wheel bearings, etc..

Absolutely (sick of tazas moaning about his ej20 btw)

Replace them.

I'm running the whiteline antilift in my liberty that I had RSR Paul fit a fair while ago. Easy on the hoist as he said.

They work well.
