I think it may have a little to do with the 215 series Toyo performance tyres too compared with the BFG's on the L, but travelling on the sand it didn't sink anything like the L. I can't wait to get some decent 4wd rubber under the 'Back and a bit of lift to see what this thing can do!!!

Finally took the 'Back on the Beach
This weekend I finally took the outback onto the beach here at Coffs. I must say, its a bazillion times better than the L wagon. Even drove it up onto the rocks at the end of the beach
