Dual Range

Post by AlpineRaven » Sat Jun 17, 2006 10:08 pm

I have a couple of questions.

I've fitted Dual Range AWD gearbox from 1993 Liberty and put it in my 2nd Gen Liberty, Didn't have any problems converting the wiring etc, used my old transmission (previous transmission has worn bearings, something slipping inside - will find out soon) and I've fitted the Dual Range box in my Liberty and its HEAPS better than Single Range AWD box, replaced 3.9 rear diff into Viscous LSD.. (chose Dual Range for many reasons - towing boat & caravan, to use on farm, off road etc)

Anyway, with the Dual Range, can you use any time in lo selector on normal traffic conditions? ie. heavy traffic - ideal for creeping along traffic?

Are there anything I should know about Dual Range boxes? that i may not know?
Thanks & Cheers

yep you can crawl along in traffoc no problems. Theres no reason not to use low range on the road.

Prior to turboing my Liberty i used low range to drive around in most of the time as the 2.2 was not happy turning 29in tyres around .
