No im not trying to sell you something
I found instructions to build a controller that will modify the o2 sensor output to give the ecu a better signal, a square wave rather than a sine/triangle wave. it allows the ecu to adjust the mixture quicker.

Browse the site, there is quite a lot of interesting information on there

It does....but you get loser,s who want to screw with big buck tecnology..and claim to improve it..but they not intelligent enough to go out and buy something real..like a WOLF...I LIKE THE WAY THEY BITCH AT ANYONE WHO HAS SOME EXPERIENCE...but thats only on this user name...they are real nice to me on my other login I.D,s.

Yeah PJ, i was wondering that myself
But i suppose that the ea82 ecu was designed in the early to mid 80's and computer electronics was only really starting to take off then.
And there is a section of text in there that says that the o2 sensor's response times get worse as it ages, so i suppose that is where this device may come into play.
I may not even try it, i just thought i mite share the idea with the rest of you.
I do however want to make that a/f ratio display.

This is a very true fact, I don’t think these car companies are anywhere near as incompetent as some people would like to thinkSCOOBIDOO wrote:It does....but you get loser,s who want to screw with big buck tecnology..and claim to improve it..but they not intelligent enough to go out and buy something real..like a WOLF...I LIKE THE WAY THEY BITCH AT ANYONE WHO HAS SOME EXPERIENCE...but thats only on this user name...they are real nice to me on my other login I.D,s.

all in all its an effective way of adjusting where the ecu thinks it is in the fuel map........Jaycar has a kit that does the same only its a bit more sophisticated.
as far as ecu not being able to correctly read the signal because its not a sine wave or dc, I have my doubts.....maybe applicable to older designs....
Modern O2 sensors are fast, esp check out the wide-band ones..capable of giving a reading off each cylinder, so if there is averaging its in a very small window, and the embedded micros are much faster today to deal with it.
