Not really. Could never hate a well sorted L, esp one sporting a 82T with spider manifold goodness!El_Freddo wrote:Has someone recently jumped on the L series price/value hate bandwagon??

My first L cost $11K back in the day and was a steal at the time. At EOL (at 410K kms) I sold it to Steve for the value of the motor and gear box - ~$600, 5+ years ago and he was being generous I suspect. Having seen what wreckers and bargain hunters on Ebay for example pay these days, $500 for a 25 year old car with a blown motor to me makes 0 sense.
And if I were to buy another older model Subaru it would be an L (or an MV). My comments of late have been in response to people with tight budgets (or n00bs) looking to spend and what is the bestest, most fully sic, lower value Subaru 4WD, which I think is a Gen 1 Liberty.
Just my opinion.

You can buy a running licensed one for $500-800 even seen one go for $400.
My Grey baby was the same thing, STD, un-linc with a blown EFI motor. Paid $100 for it... an that was 4years ago.
But then again some people try to sell their standard L's for $4000 lol.
Makes me think, with that type of thinking, Mine must be worth at least $20,000 min..... Lol, hahahahaha
No but seriously, $500 pushing it a bit. $200-300 would be fair...
