Camp spots in Vic.
Camp spots in Vic.
Hey guys,
Looking for some camping spots pretty close (an hour or two) to the eastern side of town with some light 4x4ing.
Would be fun/handy to have some spots to get away for a sat night or somthing.
Thanks Will.

Cathedral state park. 1.5hours from melbourne.
Big river state forest. 2 hours from melbourne.
both have 4wding around district. big river has some extreme stuff as well as easier, but walk it first if you haven't being there before! cathedral is nice for camping but more people depending on time of year and not so much 4wding in immediate area.

sugarloaf is sweet. which way did you go up (cave or canyon)?hydrowill wrote:Thanks!
I've hiked around sugarloaf before. Could be worth a check out.
you can walk from sugarloaf peak to a place called the farmyard, which is walking from sugarloaf along the ridge top down to the cathedral range. you are allowed to camp there no campfires allowed though. plus side is you have to hike up there so not many people in quieter season. plenty of lyrebirds around.
