After the untimely departure of my much loved Brumby, it was time to find a new toy. As always, straight back to a Subaru. I purchased a 92 Liberty RS wagon. The old man and i left home in Melbourne on Saturday at 5am, flew to the Gold Coast, looked at the car, bought it and drove it home. We arrived at 1030am. 29.5 hour trip. The car is in quite good condition but needs a few a little maintenance here and there to bring it back to its former glory. Im looking forward to it.

How many kms on it and how much did you have to pay for it ?
Mine has 300,000 on it and has a couple of dents but is completely original.
The odometre says 167000 but we know its been tampered with,but based on the service manual it should be at around 215000. Not a big deal, we might have a crack at fixing it. Its really stupid though, i payed $6000 for it,which i wouldve happilly paid for one with 215000. Wind backs are usually for cars with your sort of ks on it.
Mine is basically original aswell, it has a turbo timer(which is getting removed soon), a boost gauge and adjustable boost and a pod filter(have the original airbox to go back on). Other than that shes stock.
Dude you have no idea how tired we are. And really the little "failure" couldve happened at anytime, even when we test drove it. Just bad luck. Mine has a non-original muffler and a K&N filter in the stock airbox. No other mods.
Genuine Australian delivered RS wagons are hard to find - especially in charcoal. This is the 2nd one for me - I regretted selling my first so have been on the look out ever since. $5-6k seems to be the going rate for them but I got mine for a bit less 'cos the seller was going overseas and had to sell it

My L-Series is the same. 22 years only and only 236,000km. While my Forester is 10 years newer and nearing 200,000km..berttus wrote:Totally agree.pointless.i would still pay the same price.its not like 215000 is high for a 20 year old car.
If it's been thrashed though then thats a whole nother story as 200,000km of pure abuse would take it's toll on any car..

i was going to ask if was an original rs or converted by obviously its original which is great. seems clean enough im sure you will have fun playing with it. they are a lovely car and im sure there is more then a few on that would love to have one (including me)
