The lower sensor is for exhaust temp. I think its there to check that the cat is operating at the correct temp. I have one in mine.
You wont need it, but what ECU you have?
BTW, have you downloaded the EA82 OEM manuals for the 4 plug ECU and diagrams from the "Downloads" module on this board. Its a not too bad guide, a bit generic, but not Aussie model specific.
This wont be to helpful if you have the 3 plug ECU.

The problem with the colum 6 pin and 5 pin. do you mean the steering column plugs and connectors?
I hope it works out

How many relays do you have mounted up near the fuse box?
If you've only got 2, then I had this problem almost 10years ago.
Best bet is to try to get the matching indicator stalk assembly.
Otherwise, you need to swap the pins of 2 of the headlight wires. I can't remember which 2 though.
The side-effect of this is that the indicators flash about twice as fast
Power windows should be a complete separate issue as its a plug in separate loom. look for a pink 3 pin plug with only 2 big wires in it near the driver's side kickpanel.
Check for permanent 12v on the White/black & ign 12v on the red/yellow
