Post by RSR 555 » Mon May 28, 2012 9:40 pm

Hey ppls.. we just cleaned up the H6 Outback headlights. Being plastic and getting old, they had gone that yellow faded look, so down to Auto-One and grab me some of this stuff...

Cutting polish then normal polish does the same thing, still need to re-do every year or so, but looks the works.

Thanks.. it took about 2 hours to do both lights but it turned out great. Doing it again, I would have spent more time on sanding and used running water (as per instructions) but I was inside the workshop and time was of the essence.

The cost was $40 for the pack (which does 2 headlights), it comes with 2 different grit size Wet & Dry, Polishing compound and a Sealing agent.

Time will tell how long it lasts but according to the pack (which I too are a little skeptical about) it last for ages if protective sealant is applied after ever car wash.

Tom.. I've tried many different cut and polishes over the years too on plastic headlights but none has turned out as high (glass like) finish as this stuff has. It's really hard to show in pictures but it looks awesome.

Looks good, I have used toothpaste before with reasonable results. Sounds like the kit you bought is the goods though.

i used a aluminium cleaner on one lot of plastic lights had to take them off so not to take the paint off as well very caustic great on bull bars you put it on the aluminium and it goes white then polish of with the purple stuff looks magic and cleaned the yellow of the light.
