Struts/shocks where to buy at good price

Hey all
i have only discovered this site the other day and its exactly what ive been looking for.

ok on to what i need
I have a 91 L series sports wagon

I need new shockies all round, so far at just about every place i have been to the front struts have averaged $280 and rear shocks 180
i was wondering if there is anything cheaper around? a traineeship dosent quite cut it for rego and all maintenance

And is it possible to get a lowering set of shocks and springs or something similar? as i have only ever had her on the beach once and i dont really need the extra hight?
