Shit picture i know but can anyone tell if these are EA81 twin carbs?

I think they are going off Sublimes comments that the EA81 twins screw onto each carb like the factory single.

I would say they are from a EA81, the studs are in the centre of the carbs for the air cleaner assembly and the manifold certainly looks longer than any of mine, even if it is just a picture.

Cannot remember the measurements right now, how long is the manifold from end to end? I can measure mine for a comparison...

Nice find! The only issue is that there's a sizeable puddle between there and here :(

Dad did upgrade his EA71 with twin carby back in late 70s early 80s to be able to keep up with the zoned speeds in the country.

I think I remember looking at that listing...there was something about it that didn't add up if I remember rightly.

Also, needs to run on AVGAS??? That would be a once a month drive at most with how much that stuff costs

98RON would probably do the trick ;) But really the trick here would be to land it in Oz and get it rego'd

That photo looks like EA81 due to fact the EGR valve hole on the manifold and is where mine is, surely EA71 were not EGR'd ?

in some countries they continued supplying EA71's right up until 94 when the Brumby finally stopped being produced. So would not surprise me if there was an EA71 with EGR.

Hey guys

Saw this ad in a Mackay 'Pocket Trader' in November:

Subaru EA81 twin carbies & manifold only, very rare, complete incl hoses & cables, linkages $500 ono.

There was a phone number but it didn't feel right putting it on here. If anyone's interested let me know and I'll see if I can find out if they're still for sale.

I posted this in 'Cars Seen For Sale' at the time but just thought people might have missed it.

Cheers

Unfortunately, Matt, the latest Pocket Trader doesn't have the ad in it anymore so I can't get the number. Sorry about that. I'll keep checking and I'll PM you if it comes up for sale again.

David
