Have you got a due date? I could write a few pages about the twin port engine....once I've got mine built
That's if you don't want the book in a hurry because I'm still squirreling every penny to pay for it

Will it ever end!?

OK, I dont mean to give false hope but how exactly can someone like me help ?
I am taking this very seriously so please dont take offence and read on if you are game.
Curiosity and a lack of a social life is currently driving me at the moment but seriously writing a book I imagine is a very difficult thing. I own both an EA81 (1982 - MY) and an EA82 (1992 - L series) Subaru and have owned a (1988) L series before but this in no way means I am an expert. Likewise I have 2 lathes in my shed at home and I train mechanical apprentices for a living but does this make me an expert in lathe use, no way, it simply means I own 2 lathes and in general I can use them to a reasonable accuracy and avoid killing myself on them. I have no dilusions about this.
I guess all I can offer is I can hit the keys on a keyboard without looking at them (except the numbers they have me stumped) at a reasonable pace (about 30 to 35 words a minute) and spellcheck is an excellent aid when using word, I have owned something like 18 cars (one twice) so I appreciate the things.
Having a large family (4 kids under 10) my available time is unpredicatable but I can still plan ahead of time to do certain things.
Researching is something I may be able to assits with, but I think if I am given a goal/direction/topic to research I may be of use.
Sorry for the rambling but call it being tired etc I would like to help if a solid structure of what is needed can be determined.

basically it will be done per chapter, im going to make what ive written public and anyone who wants/can write an article or a chapter is welcome and asked to do so.
Id like for that person to have reasonable insight into the area they are writing.
Silver bullet on both the ins and outs of the twin carb, and the EA81 rebuild he did.
some of the other members have little specific areas

Me too, the numbers as wellCliff R wrote: I guess all I can offer is I can hit the keys on a keyboard without looking at them (except the numbers they have me stumped)

Thinking the same sorts of things Cliff, there would have to be lots of checking and double checking of things said to make sure nobody reading is lead astray if there's going to be contributions from a few people.
i.e. Spike I would be hesitant to have anything I've written about my rebuild in a book since it failed so completely. On the other hand I will (would have anyway) learn as much as I can about the twin carb and have some decent pictures taken so those who don't have one can learn about it too.
Oh dear Cliff I think it's contagious, I'm rambling now as well

Sam, Me and Mud_King think that all you did was incorectly seat a bearing, easy mistake.
So we should have a section that says to double check your bearing orientation!
When finished what format will it be in?
Cheers Cam

thats the way i was thinking of doing it. A lot of the information is already on here or the other forums or locked away in people like steptoes minds, and toonga (btw haven't seen him in a while)steptoe wrote:Maybe baby, if Spike comes up with a set of chapters with a title that gives away its contents, list those chapters up, people could contribute on each chapter they feel they can help with ????
