stinker ?? Down south we have had 35C 95F recently for a high and just had 1 point 6 overnight for a low 35F !!

We had a ridiculously hot day recently...hit 38 degrees in some areas.

I'd suggest that you look into your cooling system more then. It sounds like there's some other issue at play here, maybe a partially blocked radiator. If you have both thermo fans operating all the time your temp gauge shouldn't move over 1/4 on the gauge. Also make sure your gauge is working correctly.

Is the top of the radiator hot when at your operating temperature, is the bottom of the radiator cooler on one side more so than the other?

It might be worth pulling the radiator to give it a flush and a shake at the very least, if you really want to check it out take the radiator to your local radiator joint and have them rod the radiator, it should cost about $100. This will clean out the radiator so you know this side of the cooling system is clean.

My 2c anyway, I'd be concerned if both thermos were on and the temp gauge was still on half, even if it is the not so accurate factory dash gauge.

Car is fine, only has 55 000km on it and the radiator was rodded recently anyway...nothing. I'm not concerned at all.

Yeah fair enough.

So I got the wiring sorted today - did it in an hour but need to tidy it up, I was in a rush (dinner reservation

). Left it running to make sure both thermos were triggered, they both worked with the AC on so I couldn't see why both wouldn't come on when the radiator thermo switch decided it was needed but tested anyway - and it tested well.

Best bit is that it also comes on when in the manual ON position

Now to drill a larger hole in the dash to fit the switch properly.

Either way, stoked! Now to teach Gail about how to use this switch - not that she currently gets to drive her Sunnie!

Yeah I was hoping to give it a run today to see if there was a difference running the fan all the time to only having it run when the thermo switch told it too. While it was a warm day there was still too much chill in the air so the radiator did all the cooling at the town speeds that he was getting hot at the other week.

Hopefully next week with the hotter weather headed our way I'll be able to tell you more as the wether it did the job or not.

Ok - so one VERY IMPORTANT thing in this whole wiring system:

Make sure the thermo fan is pulling air if mounted behind the radiator. I had Sunnie the Brumby's pushing

He got very hot
