I thought in flat out acceleration it was ok, the VOD comes in when you back off the throttle for a corner then back on it again dropping you in/near the crossover of the two turbos which is were you felt the lag of the VOD...

That's how it's been explained to me anyway. Keen to know if this is true from a B4 owner ;)

Would be good for parts, as I feel a tailgate would be harder than hen's teeth to find.

They're called a "sports model" or more known as a Targa top Brumby.

I've got my eye on this one, I've always wanted one since getting Sunnie the Brumby - but in blue...

Problem is that being stone broke means it might not happen, actually it's more than likely that it won't happen, plus I've got no where to put it and I know what my old man would say if I dragged another subi home (with his car too ).

I wonder how much rust it's got in it, while the paint looks ok, it lives in one of the wetter parts of Victoria and the seller hasn't left any rust details. I should really give him a call.

Cheers

I thought it may have been targa top but wasn't sure. I had a closer look and you can see the rust in the bottom corners of windscreen, looks quite bad too in both corners :(

I wish I knew this 2 years ago, there were a few of the fugly 4wd wagons going through the yards, don't see them anymore, or MY's for that matter :( L's are becoming thin over here in the Pick a Part style yards - they don't keep stock out for long either these days :(

Brumby parts?

Post by pitrack_1 » Tue Jan 24, 2012 12:41 am

It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good...on the trip that trashed my left-rear tyre resulting in the purchase of 4 new ones (see Good Road(?) Tyres for Forester Diesel #2), I spied the following Brumby sitting in a yard by the side of the road. My flat tyre distracted me on the way back last time so I went back out today for the photos on the excuse of testing out my new tyres :-). Only a quick look as Bub was asleep in the car.

It's located at Sutton NSW, approx 15km NE of Canberra as the crow flies. It's at Sutton Automotive and Engineering, Sutton Rd, approx 2.5km North of town. Spoke to the bloke there, he said they'd sold one not so long ago and still gets the occasional one in.

- Bit bent at the front, but not too badly. But couldn't see the underneath due to grass.
- Plate says 1990. Odo said approx 212,000 kms
- Engine's out but bellhousing and I assume therefore gearbox is there.
- Interior still in place.
- Tailgate looks OK- no obviously visible rust and doesn't seem dented.
- Taillights good. headlights may be OK
- Panels, windows there.

Hope this helps someone,
Pitrack_1

PS for Steptoe, it doesn't have intermittent wipers.
PPS for Cliff R, it does seem to have an intact aerial.

Dunno, they didn't say and I didn't ask. Their contact details from whitepages.com.au are:

Sutton Automotive & Engineering
(02) 6230 3188
2541 Sutton Rd Sutton ACT 2620. (Note Sutton should be NSW not ACT.)

Also the rego sticker was valid until 8/2011.

No sorry, have not seen any GF's or GFT's for years and they were the only ones to have the twin headlights in OZ.

As its an engineering firm I guess they also use Sutton drill bits etc lol

That bullbar would be worth something wouldnt it?
New engine, buff the paint, bit of TLC... would be worth it to someone.
