Those photo's don't do the red on gold trim justice

I see one like this (No H6 though) and it looks bloody fantastic with that colour combo. Will be a capable car with a little extra lift and some under body protection.
Are you getting the subaxtreme bar colour matched to the gold?! Can't wait to see it if you are.
cheers,
Rhys

Made up some dodgy curtains to slap on the side of the car for when im camping in the back of it, here they are:
They are held on by adhesive velcro strips along the window frame, they will be replaced with black ones so they dont stand out as much:P:
Much darker inside now:

Very nice car !! love the colour.. suits that model.
I hear the 6 speed go very well behind them. No d/r but plenty of power to not worry about it.

Paul, here's a question for you... any idea what the final output ratio would be for the 6 speed 1st gear compared to a 3.9 dual range 1st, in low range? I heard the 6th speed 1st gear is pretty tall!
Sorry for the hijack! You ride looks mad, it's gonna be sweet with those mods!

trannychartas it is called lists the 6 speed transmissions as having a 3.636 ratio first gear.
Aaron nice ride love the curtains, as for the manual box I've heard nothing but good reviews when people convert to either a five speed or a six speed.

I'm pretty sure gen 1 and 2 dual ranges have a first gear of 3.545. So 3.545 x 1.19 = 4.218, or if with 1.59 l series low range then effective first of 5.63... is that calculation right?

Well, we all know what can be done with the auto... boat anchor!

And we're about to hear about a dual range 5 speed
Loads of potential in those outbacks, I'm sure you'll make the most of it!
Cheers

Yes it is quiet tall as I'm from the understanding that it's due to the large rim size, which is what really puts the 5 speeds under stress.

Cheers Jules
I would however not recomend the 5 speed box unless you really look after them. There are stronger gearsets available for them but for the price you might as well bought a 6 speed.
