Ways to mount my 3" aftermarket tach

Post by 2nd Hand Yank » Wed Nov 09, 2011 9:04 am

I'd like to put it on the steering column, but the parking light button is a bit in the way so...

I could place it behind that and need to cut a bit of the instrument cluster trim

or

I could relocate or delete this parking switch.

Thoughts?

Start your own build thread and post all of these build ideas in there like what others have done in the member's rides section - add pictures with dummy fits etc... You can work out what to do as it's your build thread ;)

Toonga's build thread is an example of what to try and avoid unless you've got some time on your hands to read it all and respond if necessary

Nice. That's close to what I had in mind. :)

My tach is deep though, which is why it will either have to go offcentre like yours, or be on centre and I'd have to trim the dash, or relocate that parking switch...

I'm thinking relocate the parking switch, if it's easy enough.
My Gregories manual has nothing in it on how to properly remove trim panels.:???:

Nice pics. :)

Sarcasm? getting tired of my threads?

Why I ask is I might want to sell my L Series and I don't want to do very unpopular modifications. ;)

To be reversible i would use some double sided tape to hold the tacho on so you/next owner can remove it easily, thats what i did. Nothing worse than looking at a second hand car with stupid little holes drilled in the dash/centre console.
