Lib cruise control details wanted

Post by Fury » Sun May 21, 2006 3:31 pm

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or knowledge of how a Liberty cruise control works?

I have the main componants, but would like to confirm all the parts.

I also don't seem to have a speed sensor :? ..which I obviously need - or does it hook up to the back of the speedo.

componants I have:

control unit module
steering column stalk
dash mount - on / off switch,
pedal de-activation switches
throttle actuator with vacuum pump
and wiring loom - which I still have to strip

This is a from scratch installation, so need all the help I can get.

I was going to install an aftermarket one ( which I do have ) but would prefer to do this one if I can.
Cheers
Chris

spped comes off teh back of the speedo. (its a reed switch.)

if its like the generic items then:
speed pulse to unit
brake supply input
brake lamp input
clucth input (maunal)
VAC input
IGN and gnd.

and it goes.

(give me a ring too.)

Thanks Chris,
Pretty much what I thought, just got to match the correct wires together - :? As there was no sender, I thought that could be the case - just not sure which wire...

I'll pm you later. Qld at the end of the week...

I cant seem to find anything about the original specs or schematics, the downloaded FSM doesn't seem to have anything about it...

Are you installing it into a Lib, or something else?
I'm adding Lib cruise to my L.

A couple of things to watch out for:
The cruise switches for the brake & clutch are normally closed switches (ie break circuit when switch is pressed), whereas the brake switch is normally open.
I'd recommend using the Lib switches & fit them (the Lib brake switch has 4 wires coming off it)

For the speed sensor on the back of the L cluster, its the screw between the speedo cable & the cente part thats NOT labelled 100k. Trace that with a multimeter back to the multi-pin plug (the other one is for the 100km.h chime on JDM cars)
