new member, subaru brumby
Hi all, i have just become a member after reading and using alot of info regarding my brumby. heres my ride
1992 white subaru brumby
4spd man
alloy bull bar
new rear shocks
i will post up some pics when the misses finds the memory card for the camera! its my work bus and i also have a clubsport that comes out on weekends.
i have just replaced the rear with kyb excel-g shocks that i scored from ebay for $100. i am looking to replace the front struts aswell, do i need shocks with adjustable spring seats? also what springs should i replace the originals with? i am heading to bob jane on sat to see if some 6 stud csa ranger's will fit without too much hanging outside the guards as they have a +14 offset, and if they do i will do the 6 stud conversion. any ideas would be great to guys, thanks

One way to find out - but you'll have to work out if these are the single headlight or the dual unit - They look like they're a single job to me.thunder039 wrote:has any one tried those headlights on the link? if so has there been an improvement?
I got a set similar to these on my old torana - made it cheaper to replace the globes rather than a whole headlight unit. They gave about the same throw of light as the last sealed beams.
The biggest thing with these is that you need good quality reflective surfaces, if they're plastic they won't go the distance and can be ruined by higher wattage globes via the heat generated from the use of the globe.
And Johnno, welcome to the forum!
Cheers
Bennie

they say there 6x4 which when i measured one of my quad lights it was pretty close (without taking the light out) i was thinking i may have to buy four and then fit some globes to my liking. i agree with you about the plastic crappy ones, i have a set on my clubby. i read that an 80 series landcruiser will fit the quad brumby's is that right?

Does the left hand drive - right hand drive difference come into play here? ie our lights shine a different direction to left hand drive.johnno010684 wrote:http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Landc ... 087wt_1141

And, play with your lights. I found someone fitted up the wrong sort of unit on the inner of the quads and something was making earth contact with the globe surround or spring retainer causing the earthing to give high beam from all four when I turned the lights on to low beam. To fix the problem I had to find sealed beam unit as opposed to H4 bulb insert style or change wiring and relays. Pretty crap considering a copper was the last to drive this beast for a year , never got a ticket for high beaming everyone !!
Left hand drive lights they'd be and likely cause an incorrect pattern coz its not the globe but the lens or reflector in this case that gives the RHD LHD 'look'
I think I got H4 sealeds from Repco cleanout sale for $10 ea afew years back
