With an L series 3in is all you need to go at maximum lift as 4in will gain you nothing in being able to fit larger tyres. the best all round tyre for them is the Nankang Wild Conquerer in 27x8.5x14 and on a speedy or Scopian rim although there is a place up here that can get rims to suit with an offset inbetween the 2 which is a good compromise.

Welcome - Go with the above advice... just be awre that the car may not now be legal. Eg. 3" kit will not be legal and 14" will need correct offset (Scorpion are desert rats/speedy are not) so add some flex-flares so they do not extend past the guards).

Look for nic Vilder (on this site) as he has just added a 4" kit to an L series, and there are pics of it.

This is my L series, 5" lift with 28s. I agree with Suby Wan Kenobi, 3" lift and 27s is really all you need. Anything else is excessive and showing off 8)

Yeah, I have 3" lift and 27's and have driven through substantial ruts at barrington tops with no clearance issues.

HOWEVER

I would love to have the usa style 10" lift with second transfer case and 33's, but hey, the expense and likely constant police harrassment is just not worth it... maybe.... And I may or may not have been called a show off in the past...

There is a rough line drawn between the models
MY = best offroad, least comfortable
L = good offroad, good comfort
Liberty = not as good offroad, great comfort

obviously liberty is gonna get better the more people play with them, But I am taking into account things like wheelbase and approach/departure angle here.
